“Music has no borders, no color, no creed
Music is the language of my soul”

John Miles – Music
Album: Rebel
Released: 1976

Music was my first love and it will be my last
Music of the future and music of the past
To live without my music would be impossible do
In this world of troubles my music pulls me through.

Music was my first love and it will be my last
Music of the future and music of the past
And music of the past and music of the past.

Music was my first love and it will be my last
Music of the future and music of the past
To live without my music would be impossible do
In this world of troubles my music pulls me through.

John claims it only took him half an hour to write.
Although he originally thought it would be the basis of other songs,
he later decided that it stood up very well on its own.

‘Music’ is a milestone in the history of popular music, and John Miles is one of my favorite singers, and I am honored that I have been able to put my mark onto his great music, yet you shouldn’t put all of the credits in my direction alone.”  Alan Parsons produced this song

Helloween – Music
(M & L – Roland Grapow)
Album: Chameleon
Released: 1993

When I was a young boy, I had no aim
Neither experience, it wasn’t a shame
Most of the time it satisfied me
But some day I realized, music is like a rising sun

Times are now changing and memory fades
I gaze at the photos, a look in the haze
You cannot imagine how many friends I’ve lost
It’s much too late for calling them back

Music is like sunrise for me
It’s joyful like a trip in a time machine
Music is like sunrise for me
It’s like coming home

I was always insecure, sometimes I still am
But I made up my mind now and look here I stand
I ask myself sometimes, is it all worth it?
To fly over mountains makes you fall down again

But music is like sunrise for me
It’s joyful like a trip in a time machine
Music is like sunrise for me
It’s like coming home

Music is like sunrise for me
It’s joyful like a trip in a time machine
Music is like sunrise for me
It’s like coming home

Pride of Lions – Music and me
Album: Pride of Lions
Released 2003
(Jim Peterik/Toby Hitchcock)

Rock and roll became my first impression
Before my lips could make a word
Those scratchy memories from those old “Sun” sessions
Are still the sweetest sound I’ve ever heard

I’d tuck my radio beneath my pillow
So no one else could hear the minstrels play
I soared the heaven on a magic carpet
I’d catch the currents and drift away

BRIDGE
Then suddenly I could be everything
I always dreamed I could be
Suddenly alone in my fantasy
Everything inside of me was singing

CHORUS
Music has no borders, no color, no creed
Music is the language of my soul
A technicolor vision on a black and white screen
It will always be, yeah
Music and me

As I traveled on a young man’s journey
I would sing to chase the storms way
The only thing that seemed to stop my worrying
Was on the stage when I would start to play

BRIDGE
Then suddenly I could be everything
I always dreamed I could be
Suddenly the audience was at its feet
Everything inside of me was singing

Music has no borders, no color, no creed
Music is the language of my soul
A technicolor vision on a black and white screen
It will always be, yeah
Music and me

(Solo)

Sing yourself a blue sky when it rains
Write yourself a symphony from the pain

Here’s a friend who’s every word rings true
So if you’re down and lost for a song
It’s time to find someone to bring out the music in you

Music has no borders, no color, no creed
Music is the language of my soul
A technicolor vision on a black and white screen
It will always be, yeah

Music has no borders, no color, no creed
Music is the language of my soul
A technicolor vision on a black and white screen
It will always be, yeah
Music and me

“Almost the same title, different artist” presents:  Welcome to an eclectic Tea party

Kinks love TEA

The Kinks – Have a Cuppa Tea
from “Muswell Hillbillies album” – 1972

Granny’s always ravin’ and rantin’
And she’s always puffin’ and pantin’,
And she’s always screaming and shouting,
And she’s always brewing up tea.

Grandpappy’s never late for his dinner,
Cos he loves his leg of beef
And he washes it down with a brandy,
And a fresh made cup of tea.

Chorus:
Have a cuppa tea, have a cuppa tea,
have a cuppa tea, have a cuppa tea,
Halleluja, halleluja, halleluja, Rosie Lea
Halleluja, halleluja, halleluja Rosie Lea.

If you feel a bit under the weather,
If you feel a little bit peeved,
Take granny’s stand-by potion
For any old cough or wheeze.
It’s a cure for hepatitis it’s a cure for chronic insomnia,
It’s a cure for tonsilitis and for water on the knee.

Chorus

Tea in the morning, tea in the evening, tea at supper
time,
You get tea when it’s raining, tea when it’s snowing.
Tea when the weather’s fine,
You get tea as a mid-day stimulant
You get tea with your afternoon tea
For any old ailment or disease
For Christ sake have a cuppa tea.

Chorus,

Whatever the situation whatever the race or creed,
Tea knows no segregation, no class nor pedigree
It knows no motivations, no sect or organisation,
It knows no one religion,
Nor political belief.

Ray Davies: Rhythm guitar and Vocals
Dave Davies: Lead guitar and background vocals
John Dalton: Bass
Mick Avory: Drums
John Gosling: Keyboards

Paul Mccartney– English Tea

Would you care to sit with me
For a cup of English tea?
Very twee, very me
Any sunny morning

What a pleasure it would be
Chatting so delightfully
Nanny bakes fairy cakes
Every Sunday morning

Miles of miles of English garden
Stretching past the willow tree
Lines of hollyhocks and roses
Listen most attentively

Do you know the game croquet?
Peradventure we might play
Very gay, hip hooray
Any sunny morning

Miles of miles of English garden
Stretching past the willow tree
Lines of hollyhocks and roses
Listen most attentively

As a rule the church bells chime
When it’s almost supper time
Nanny bakes fairy cakes
On a Sunday morning

“According to McCartney, Godrich was at times blunt
in his appraisal of McCartney’s songs-in-progress
during the making of Chaos and Creation in the Backyard,
challenging McCartney to get the best out of the music”

Boston Tea Party -Fish

Are you going to the party?
Are you going to the Boston Tea Party?
Going to the party?
Are you going to the Boston Tea Party?

Going to the party?
Are you going to the Boston Tea Party?
Going to the party?
Are you going to the Boston Tea Party?

Redcoats in the village, there’s fighting in the streets
The Indians and the mountain men
Well, they are talking when they meet
The king said, “Had he’s gonna put a tax on tea”
And that’s the reason you all Americans drink coffee

Are you going to the party?
(Are you going)
Are you going to the Boston Tea Party?
(Are you going to the tea party)
Going to the party?
(Are you going)
Are you going to the Boston Tea Party?
(Are you going to the tea party)

Going to the party?
(Are you going)
Are you going to the Boston Tea Party?
(Are you going to the tea party)
Going to the party?
(Are you going)
Are you going to the Boston Tea Party?
(Are you going to the tea party)

Fire in the mountains, flames upon the heath
And the president spits out the news
He’s biting on wooden teeth
The children of the colonies got a different tale to tell
I’m going down to the city, tell my folks that I’m doing well

Are you going to the party?
(Are you going)
Are you going to the Boston Tea Party?
(Are you going to the tea party)
Going to the party?
(Are you going)
Are you going to the Boston Tea Party?
(Are you going to the tea party)

Going to the party?
(Are you going)
Are you going to the Boston Tea Party?
(Are you going to the tea party)
Going to the party?
(Are you going)
Are you going to the Boston Tea Party?
(Are you going to the tea party)

Bringing back the buffalo to the long prairie
Bringing back the fishes swimming in the sea
The children of the colonies got a different tale to tell
Tell my folks that I’m going to the city
Tell them that, I’m doing well

Are you going to the party?
(Are you going)
Going to the Boston Tea Party?
(Are you going to the tea party)
Going to the party?
(Are you going)
Are you going to the Boston Tea Party?
(Are you going to the tea party)

Going to the party?
(Are you going)
Going to the Boston Tea Party?
(Are you going to the tea party)

Going to the party?
(Are you going)
Are you going to the Boston Tea Party?
(Are you going to the tea party)
Going to the party?
(Are you going)
Going to the Boston Tea Party?
(Are you going to the tea party)

Are you going, are you going?
(Are you going, are you going?)
Are you going, are you going?
Are you going to the party?

Are you going?
Are you going?
Are you going?

Nirvana – Pennyroyal Tea

I’m on my time with everyone
I have very bad posture

I sit and drink Pennyroyal Tea
Distill the life that’s inside of me
I sit and drink Pennyroyal Tea
I’m anemic royalty

Give me a Leonard Cohen afterworld
So I can sigh eternally

I’m so tired I can’t sleep
I’m a liar and a thief
I sit and drink Pennyroyal Tea
I’m anemic royalty

I’m on warm milk and laxatives
Cherry flavored antacids

I sit and drink Pennyroyal Tea
Distill the life that’s inside of me
I sit and drink Pennyroyal Tea
I’m anemic royalty
